Managing digitalization to cope with unexpected events and crises - DigitalDays Event

Drawing on examples from the fashion and design industries, this presentation explains how digitalization directly enhances companies’ adaptability, enabling them to better handle disruption in supply chains and product lifecycles, by better anticipating and faster responding to upcoming issues.

But digitalization is a double-egged sword that long term also can have constraining effects on adaptability, leading to lock-in into suboptimal business networks and practices. To ensure short-term as well and long-term adaptability, companies need to adopt clear principles for digitalization that allows them to cope with unexpected events today and tomorrow.
